Amenities

Comfort & Care

Safe Environment & Affordable Housing

At The Openbook, we provide a safe, structured, and supportive living environment built on accountability, respect, and personal growth. Each resident is provided with a dedicated bed or private room, with utilities, toiletries, linens, and access to cooking supplies included.

Residents are expected to be employed, actively seeking employment, or have a verified source of financial support. To help maintain a sober and healthy community, all residents agree to participate in random drug and alcohol screenings.

An 11:00 PM curfew is enforced to promote stability, responsibility, and a respectful living environment for all members.

Peer Support

Career Support & Life Skills Training

We empower residents to build a strong foundation for independent living through career development, life skills training, and structured peer support. Our team provides assistance with job searches, résumé development, interview preparation, and employment resources while also teaching essential life skills such as budgeting, time management, effective communication, and personal responsibility.

Our structured, accountability-based approach, combined with positive peer support, encourages residents to confidently pursue their recovery and personal goals. Regular house meetings and group discussions foster connection, encouragement, and a sense of community while helping residents remain focused on long-term success.

Connections: Building Networks

Community Support & Recovery Resources

At The Openbook, residents become part of a supportive community of individuals who share a commitment to recovery, personal growth, and independent living. Through positive peer support and accountability, residents are encouraged to build meaningful relationships while working toward common goals.

We connect residents with essential community resources, including counseling services, medical and behavioral healthcare, employment assistance, educational opportunities, and other support programs. Our mission is to provide every resident with the guidance, resources, and life skills needed to achieve lasting stability, self-sufficiency, and a successful future.

Safety & Security

House Expectations

To maintain a safe, respectful, and recovery-focused environment, all residents are expected to follow the house rules and contribute positively to the community. These expectations are designed to promote personal accountability, mutual respect, and long-term success.

Residents are expected to:

  • Maintain a drug- and alcohol-free lifestyle at all times.

  • Treat fellow residents, staff, neighbors, and property with respect.

  • Follow the established curfew and sign-in/sign-out procedures.

  • Attend all required house meetings and recovery support meetings.

  • Maintain employment, actively seek employment, attend school, or participate in an approved program.

  • Keep personal living areas and shared spaces clean and complete assigned chores.

  • Respect quiet hours and the privacy of others.

  • Comply with random drug and alcohol testing.

  • Refrain from violence, threats, theft, illegal activity, or possession of weapons.

  • Obtain approval before allowing visitors and ensure all guests follow house policies.

  • Communicate openly with house management regarding concerns, employment, or changes in personal circumstances.

By following these expectations, residents help create a supportive community where everyone has the opportunity to grow, remain accountable, and build a stable foundation for lasting recovery and independent living.
